PAIN

Most people experience significant pain at some time in their lives—whether from injury, illness, or an unknown cause. Pain is a warning signal, an alarm that goes off when your body is trying to tell you that something is wrong and out of balance.

Often, people suffering from pain try to cover it up, either by ignoring the pain or taking medication. However, treated in this way, the source of the pain will never completely go away. It's like hitting the snooze button on an alarm. Unless the cause of the pain is treated, your body will keep sounding the alarm and reminding you that something is wrong. Eventually, the pain may get worse or become chronic. © 2008 Acupuncture Media Works, LLC.

Stress

Most people who experience acupuncture are surprised and pleased by the feelings of well being and relaxation that wash over them as a result of the treatments. The body's own innate anti-stress response is powerfully activated when the meridians of energy are opened, and qi and blood are allowed to circulate freely.

Stress is a natural nonspecific response of the body to the various demands we place upon it. However, stress is not necessarily negative. There is a distinction between healthy and unhealthy stress. Healthy stress includes appropriate physical exercise, good eating habits, positive thinking, adequate rest, and natural response to emergency situations. These stressors keep us alert and motivated, and support our body's strength and vitality. Unhealthy stress, such as negative emotions and thinking, overexertion, poor eating habits, lack of sleep, and chemical and environmental pollutants and toxins, challenge our health and can trigger physical and mental problems, particularly if they are experienced over a prolonged period of time. Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine can provide a safe, effective and drug-free alternative for the treatment of stress.

Fertility

Mitzi has helped numerous people dealing with the challenges of infertility.

Controlled scientific studies have shown that acupuncture increases blood flow to the uterus, promotes health of the egg as well as sperm, and can increase the successful implantation of embryos.

We work with couples or single people who wish to increase the chances of pregnancy either through natural methods or in conjunction with their medical reproductive specialists.

Acupuncture and/or herbs have been found to greatly increase chances for a healthy conception, pregnancy and birth. We have noticed that the hundreds of babies who have been born over the years with acupuncture as an intervention seem exceptionally happy and healthy".

TCM Herbs

TCM Herbs (Traditional Chinese Medicinal Herbs) is very helpful at rebuilding a patient’s energy or expelling an invading pathogen.

There are more than 5000 medicinal substances from plant, animal and mineral are used by TCM herbalists and found in the well-known Materia Medica. Classic texts have been translated and distilled down through rigorous study by students in herbal Master programs around the globe.

Each herb is studied and separated for their effects on particular vital substances, their resonance with particular organ systems and pathways found throughout the body as well as the pathogenic factors and patterns of disharmony that the substance is known to address.

Each herb is known for their actions and indications, for specific dosages, contraindications and drug interactions. They are further differentiated by their specific tastes, temperatures in relation to their effect within the body, their directional pull alone and within a formula and their best partnerships.

Chinese formulations can be prepared in different ways:

* Chinese herbal decoctions: The most traditional method using raw herbs and prepared as a tea. The teas rely strongly on taste as part of the healing value.
